to head with governor romney at some point, and hopefully that will occur sooner rather than later, but we'll wait and see what the speaker decides. >> let's talk about governor romney. he's making the argument that the malt is essentially the moment momentum. our own political unit did some of that math and figured that you'd need 61% of the remaining delegates ultimately to win this thing. aside from the fact that nobody has the requisite number of delegates yet. why should not this race effectively be considered over and done with, advantage romney? >> well, romney needs about 50% of the delegates. on the current track that we're on right now, the fact is that governor romney doesn't get to that number. so the idea that you just make projections, i mean, this isn't a mathematical formula. it has a tremendous amount of dynamics. we have states coming up that will be great states, states like pennsylvania, we have 72 delegates, we should win if not all of them, the vast majority. the last poll in texas had me up 30 points. we're doing very well in a lot of the states. people remember that

will not be running against newt gingrich, he is going to be running against mitt romney who is loathe to take in i military positions. this is is a big opportunity for him to draw a distinction between himself and the president and he will not do it if you are the president, you are glad the oh, sasama bin lad situation went the way it did. >> we know there a would question marks over the summer. one is foreign policy, not just afghanistan, it's iran and syria. the other is gas prices. we will talk more about that in the next block, but newt has tried to focus our involvement in the middle east to our dependence on foreign oil, do you think that romney will pick that up and that could be the talking point for republicans? >> it should be, it's the best argument that republicans have on do what they want to do on. which is increase drilling and and look for more domestic sources of energy to tie it to the problems in the middle east and to say, we do not want to be buying gas from our enemies, that is actually a great argument. it's what is keeping newt gingrich holding on by a thread in the race.

, rick santorum is coming off a big weekend win in the kansas caucuses even as the romney campaign claims a big win with delegates. santorum got 51% support, a full 30 points ahead of romney. romney won the delegate vote in wyoming's county conventions on saturday. combined he added 39 delegates to his total this weekend, rick santorum got 36. in all romney leads santorum by 200 delegates. santorum rejecting that his rival's lead makes him the nominee. >> on the current track we're on right now, the fact is that governor romney doesn't get to that number. so the idea that you just make projecti projections, this is not a mathematical formula. someone who has out-spent 10-1 w all this wind at his back, yet he can't close the deal. i have my homestate yet to go. governor romney had about three of his homestates already. it's important to look to the future and see the opportunities we have. that's how we get back into this race. if we can get one-on-one, we can see we've done well there. >> tomorrow the republican race turns to the deep south. primaries in alabama and mississippi. over 100
